You are welcome to bring desserts to share at a fellowship time after the performance. (You do not need to bring drinks.) Show shirts & other Salem Band items will be sold at this time.
Please do not arrive at camp before 6pm. The show will start promptly at 7:15pm, and visitors will be asked to leave by 9pm.
Directions to Greenbrier Youth Camp are below. Please note GPS routes are not always correct.
From Salem, take I-81 North to exit 150B. Merge onto US 11 South and turn right on 220N. Go through Clifton Forge and follow signs to get onto I-64 West heading toward Lewisburg, WV.
At the Lewisburg exit (approx. 1.5 hr drive from Salem), turn right onto route 219, and continue for nearly 10 miles.
When you pass an Exxon on the right, followed by a cemetery on the right, you will turn right onto Anthony Road. Go about 5 miles, and every time you come to a fork, take the downhill option. When you cross the Greenbrier River, turn left. The camp will be on your left.
On Sunday, August 13th, the Salem Band will be heading to their annual Band Camp, at the Greenbrier Youth Camp in Anthony WV.
While there, the kids will have limited access to cellphones & Internet, as reception is spotty.
If you wish to send mail or a care package to your student while they are there, remember to send it early (if they arrive before the band, they will be held and distributed Sunday). The address is:
The Salem Band Booster Board members would like to wish our band students, booster members and their families a happy and safe holiday season!
Congratulations to our two winners of the new Polaris ATVs! The drawing was held on Friday, and both have now been awarded and delivered.
The winner of the green ATV was Steve Edwards, from Bassett. The blue ATV was won by Judd Poindexter, of Salem.
Thank you to everyone who helped to support this raffle, and to all the ticket purchasers!
We are asking that each band member sell five raffle tickets. Tickets are $20.00 each, each ticket is eligible for both drawings, 1 drawing per four wheeler. Checks should be made payable to the Salem Band Boosters. If the band students sell 800 tickets, Mr.Wilkes will do something unforgettable… The company that sells the most raffle tickets will win a pizza dinner out together and a movie pass! If you need more tickets, please see your General.
All money and unsold tickets are due to your General by Thursday October 1, 2015. Two winning tickets will be drawn at the last home game on November 6, 2015. The winners do not need to be present. Please make sure that each ticket sold has complete contact information, including a telephone number.
Some facts about the four wheelers:
Winners will receive DMV title and be responsible for title fees and safety courses. A $35.00 fee for any returned check will apply, and that ticket will not be placed in drawing until both the check and return fee are paid.
