Scholarships
Information on Scholarships initiated by the Salem Band Boosters
The Salem Band Boosters have initiated two scholarship funds to honor individuals associated with the Pride of Salem band. The first such fund was established to honor Mr. Dennis Reaser, longtime director of the band. The second fund was established in 2006 to honor Lauren Elizabeth Burns, former drum major of the band. Lauren died in 2006 in a tragic car accident. The newer fund will need to accumulate additional donations to become fully endowed, and your participation is encouraged.
Both funds are administered by the Salem Educational
Foundation. All donations to these funds should be
made directly to the Salem Educational Foundation,
specifying the specific scholarship fund that the donation

The Dennis Reaser Pride of Salem (Band)
Scholarships
Scholarships from this endowment will be made to
students who have been dedicated members of the Pride of
Salem Marching Band during their junior and senior years at
Salem High School. Recipients must attend a four-year
college or university.
The Lauren Elizabeth Burns Scholarship
This scholarship is to be presented to a Salem High
School graduating senior marching band member, who in their
daily life exhibits well roundedness, humility, good
character, athleticism, leadership skills, and a reverence
for God.
