A Piece of History

Want to own a piece of Pride of Salem history? These band uniform jackets were used from 1991/1992 school year until 2004/2005 when the current uniforms were purchased. Jackets and the black drum major uniform are are being sold for $20 each. Jackets only – no pants are available.

Schedule for Saturday Sep 24th

On September 24th, the Pride of Salem will compete in two different competitions – one in Stuarts Draft, the other in Glenvar.  Because of that, the band has a pretty active schedule for the day:

6 am Muster

7 am depart for Stuart’s Draft

9 am warmup

10 am performance

10:30 critique clinic

11:30 am snack

12:30 pm depart for SHS

3:00 pm Chick-fil-A lunch/dinner

4 pm depart for Glenvar

4:30-5:45 watch competition

6:15 warmup

7:30 performance

8:00 Awards

8:30 Snack

8:45 depart for SHS

9:30-10 dismissal

 

Band Camp Time!

On Sunday, August 13th, the Salem Band will be heading to their annual Band Camp, at the Greenbrier Youth Camp in Anthony WV.

While there, the kids will have limited access to cellphones & Internet, as reception is spotty.

If you wish to send mail or a care package to your student while they are there, remember to send it early (if they arrive before the band, they will be held and distributed Sunday).  The address is:

ATV Winners!

Congratulations to our two winners of the new Polaris ATVs!  The drawing was held on Friday, and both have now been awarded and delivered.

The winner of the green ATV was Steve Edwards, from Bassett.  The blue ATV was won by Judd Poindexter, of Salem.

4-Wheeler Raffle

We are asking that each band member sell five raffle tickets.  Tickets are $20.00 each, each ticket is eligible for both drawings, 1 drawing per four wheeler. Checks should be made payable to the Salem Band Boosters.  If the band students sell 800 tickets, Mr.Wilkes will do something unforgettable…  The company that sells the most raffle tickets will win a pizza dinner out together and a movie pass!  If you need more tickets, please see your General.

All money and unsold tickets are due to your General by Thursday October 1, 2015.  Two winning tickets will be drawn at the last home game on November 6, 2015.  The winners do not need to be present.  Please make sure that each ticket sold has complete contact information, including a telephone number.

  • Stamped steel wheels.

Winners will receive DMV title and be responsible for title fees and safety courses.  A $35.00 fee for any returned check will apply, and that ticket will not be placed in drawing until both the check and return fee are paid.
